Location:  Lake Kennisis, Haliburton, Ontario.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen and 1 double trundle bed) for a maximum occupancy of 8 guests.  There is a full bathroom with spa bath and separate shower upstairs and a smaller bathroom on the ground floor with a shower stall.  The kitchen is fully equipped for the cottaging chef (microwave oven, ceramic-top stove, dishwasher, etc), and there is a nice sized barbecue on the deck, which also sports a screened in gazebo for al fresco dining that excludes bugs.  There is a large woodstove in the great room and a smaller one in the master bedroom, but all guestrooms are equipped with individually controlled baseboard heaters in case evenings get nippy.

The living room has a TV with VCR and DVD player but no rabbit’s ears or satellite dish;  DVDs can be rented at the Marina and at the Cookhouse in the Forest, or brought from home.

Down by the waterfront, we have a large deck with a 10' slide off the floating dock.  Since our lake feeds the Trent-Severn waterway, the water level drops between 2 and 2.5 meters over the course of the summer.  If you are vacationing in August, the water will likely have dropped enough for you to enjoy the firepit in the evening.

We do allow pets, but please bear in mind that dogs must be leashed as per local by-laws.
