Appliances and furnishings: wood-burning cook stove, microwave, dishwasher, convection oven, gas cook top, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery (setting for 12). There is a sunroom with TV, satellite dish and VCR.
The cottages has
hardwood and ceramic floors throughout, a great room with a
wood-burning stove, the dining room accommodates 10 - 12 people and
the living room has a wood-burning fireplace. There are two
bedrooms on the first level, a master bedroom in the upper loft with
double en-suite bathrooms and a fourth bedroom in the lower level.
There is a deck surrounding the back of the cottage with a gas
barbeque. A canoe, kayak and life jackets are provided.
High-speed internet and a desk telephone are available.
The House is tastefully furnished and the décor reflects the calm
serenity of country living. The master bedroom has queen-size bed
and double en-suite bathrooms, a second bedroom has one single and
one double bed, the third bedroom has a double bed and the fourth
bedroom has a queen-size bed. There are two extra queen-size
mattresses and two bunk beds that are available upon request and can
be set-up in the loft overlooking the living room or in the
downstairs family room.
For guests who suffer from environmental allergies or are asthmatic
and have special needs, the house is equipped with central
air-conditioning, an air-to-air exchanger, a hepa air purifier and
filter. Chemical and perfume free cleaners are used in the cottage
and the laundry is washed in perfume-free detergent. We adhere to a
no smoking policy.
Meech Lake Retreat is a comfortable, private country estate nestled
in the heart of the Gatineau Park in Chelsea, Québec. It is the
ideal location for guests with discriminating taste. Meech
Lake Retreat is a spacious home suited for up to ten overnight
visitors.
This is a sanctuary where family and friends get re-acquainted and
enjoy each others company while escaping from busy travel schedules
and hectic city living. The cottage is located 15 minutes from
downtown Ottawa, the Capital of Canada and eight minutes from the
village of Chelsea. Le Nordik Spa, world-class restaurants,
shopping and golfing are also close-by. Camp Fortune ski hill is a
mere three minutes away.
Meech Lake Retreat is ideal for:

Meech Lake Retreat is a 2 hour drive for visitors from Montreal and
a 4.5 hour drive from Toronto.
Waterfront:
Shallow, pebble entry on Meech Lake. Walk down a private road
and cross Meech Lake Road to access the dock on Meech Lake.
Skiing: Cross-country skiing from the front door, Ski
Camp Fortune is located three kilometers from the cottage.
