The cottage is situated in Andlau, just about 35 km south of
Strasbourg. It is four km from a main highway which leads to all
locations, either north or south, so one could fly from Canada into
France, Germany or Switzerland.
The village itself is small but has
all facilities (doctor, dentist, grocery, hairdresser, church etc)
and is literally surrounded by vineyards, all at the foothills of
the Vosges. In fact, Andlau is considered one of the prettiest
villages in the region! The cottage is on the "route de vin" with
three Grand Cru wines produced in our village alone. There are 21
Michelin starred restaurants in the region and lots of good walking
or hiking. And, of course, Strasbourg is always worth exploring.
Germany and Switzerland are less than an hour away.
The apartment is in a converted mill; hence one complete side, where
the balcony, kitchen and living room are, looks over the Andlau
River. Beamed ceilings add to the charm. There are two bedrooms, an
eat-in kitchen, a living room with a bed sofa and a separate
bathroom and toilet. Since the owners use this as a second home, it
has been furnished very well. In other words, it is very
comfortable. Check-in and check-out days/times can be arranged
individually.
Waterfront: On the banks of the Andlau River.
Skiing: The cottage is in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains only one hour from Basel where this is lots of downhill skiing.
Availability: Year-round. Minimum one-week stay.
