Enjoy this brand new, modern, executive retreat with an abundance of
privacy. Relax to mesmerizing sunsets in this beautiful,
architecturally designed four-season lakefront vacation home.
Nestled in a natural setting of trees and Canadian Shield rock,
you'll revel in natural privacy on approximately 3 acres and 200
feet of prime waterfront. A sandy beach and entrance way to lake,
leads to a warm shallow safe swimming area for children; deeper
farther out for adult swimming. Good fishing on this serene lake.
The cottage, called Time to Exhale, is on a private lot on Morrison
Lake, just south of Gravenhurst. Morrison Lake is a warm clean lake
located in the Muskoka region and is only an hour and forty five
minutes from Toronto. Drive right up to the cottage; great for
unpacking and packing the car. The property faces west, with calm
mornings and breezy afternoons. Enjoy lots of afternoon sun that
will make it bright until the sun sets. There is wildlife in the
area, and over the years, every type of animal and bird native to
Central Ontario has been spotted by the owners.
The 2052 sq. ft. cottage includes: a four piece main floor bathroom,
fully equipped modern kitchen with granite countertops, 8 person oak
table in dining area, a breakfast nook with four stools, and many
custom windows bring in the natural beauty of the property into the
cottage. The open-concept main floor living room has a LazyBoy couch
and love seat along with a side chair that faces the propane
fireplace and mantel. From the living room are sliding glass doors
that lead into an additional 310 sq. ft. screened-in Muskoka room
with an extra pop/beer fridge. The screened-in porch has lots of
Muskoka chairs and a loveseat glider, and the side deck off kitchen
has a propane barbeque.
The sandy beach offers several chairs facing the lake. There is a fire pit with chairs and firewood by the lakefront. Also down by the lake is a two-person hammock, horseshoe pits, and picnic table. A game of bocce ball or horseshoes is a great pastime. A nature path leads from the road to a private common area adjacent to the property. The common area is a maintained big grassy area to play, with a small sandy beach and a massive dock. The long dock is only used by a couple of boats and is a great spot for fishing or swimming off the end. The dock is also a nice place to take a walk to and enjoy the sunsets. Another nature path leads from the common area, follows the lakefront and goes to a shared full sized fenced tennis court. Enjoy a game of tennis. The cottage has a couple of tennis rackets and balls in the hall closet.
The closest town is Gravenhurst, a 20-minute drive away. Gravenhurst has shopping, groceries, LCBO, and Beer Store. The Muskoka Wharf is Gravenhurst's biggest attraction. A boat cruise aboard the Segwun or Wenonah is a great way to see Lake Muskoka, the lunch or dinner is worth it. The wharf also has a boat museum, ice cream, Boston Pizza with a patio over the bay, and a children's splash pad. There is a busy farmers market located at the wharf on Wednesday mornings. Bala is a nice village to visit, with it's rapids, water-ski shows, and ice cream. Bala has a Beer Store, LCBO, lunch spots, groceries, Internet Cafe (high speed internet, computer, flat screen monitor, speakers, also wireless with N-Router), and fine dinning (The Moon River Lookout). The Coldwater Road exit, off of Highway 11, in Orillia has a large Zehrs grocery store, frozen food from there will still be frozen by the time you make it to the cottage. In the cottage area are golf courses (from inexpensive fun par 3 to world class spectacular), Casino Rama, Wilderness Centre, Torrence Barrens for hiking/star gazing trails, fine dinning (Severn River Inn), and concert hall called The Kee to Bala. The Muskoka Visitor Centre and rest spot on the Highway 11 northbound has lots of information to offer for area activities and seasonal events.
The fishing on the lake is good, with large and small mouth bass, perch, muskie, pike and even catfish. Catch and release is the best fishing practice. Fishing licenses can be obtained from the outfitter stores on the highway, where bait is sold. A new 9.9 hp Johnson outboard is available for rent for $300 a week with a tank of gas and oil. Safety items, including various sized life jackets, are supplied with the 12' aluminum boat. A Pleasure Craft Operator Card is a training program now in effect for boating. You can get your card using the Internet at www.safeboater.com. A towrope and tube with handles come with the boat. A laminated map of the lake, showing the known rocks is provided.
