A beautiful, private, executive cottage in the Kawarthas is situated approximately 75 feet from the shore of Sturgeon Lake, which is part of the 200-mile Trent Lake System. This 8-acre estate has private treed lanes for walking, woodland areas to explore, open areas to sunbathe and play, and a picturesque pond with fish, a waterfall and fountain. Near the water is a large glassed and screened gazebo for parties or picnic dinners. You are sure to fall in love with the quiet charm of this estate.
Along the 500 feet of shoreline there is a firm shale, weed-free bottom for great swimming. A sandy shallow entry to the water is perfect for small children. Parents can sit in the sun or shade and easily watch their children in a 30 x 15 foot sandy wading inlet which is separated and protected from the main lake. There is a swimming dock and also a protected, covered boat dock for a couple of 25-35 foot boats.
This fully winterized home is a half hour from two ski resorts, ideal for a winter ski holiday or a quiet winter retreat to watch Blue jays and Cardinals while being cozy in front of the fireplace.
The attractive spacious three-level home has a modern, open layout, tastefully decorated with new furniture. There are two bedrooms on the main floor and a huge 25 x 25-foot bedroom upstairs. The lower floor has a laundry room and a playroom. The great room has a stone fireplace, an 18-foot cathedral ceiling and an entire front wall of glass with wood trim for viewing Sturgeon Lake vistas. The large deck extends your enjoyment into the evening with spectacular sunsets.
To accommodate larger numbers a quaint guest cottage on the property can be rented. There is also another large home a few cottages away which can be rented if you have a large extended family or want to cottage near your friends. This private three-bedroom home is also on a perfect swimming shoreline and has a living room, dining room, full kitchen and family room.
Activities - swimming, great fishing, Sturgeon Lake is part of 200 mile Trent Lake system for boating and canoeing, hiking, bicycling, walking (8-acre property), excellent restaurants, horseback riding nearby, unique shops & art galleries nearby, shopping five minutes to Bobcaygeon, skiing 30 minutes to Bethany Ski Hills & Devil's Elbow, golfing 10 minutes to Dunsford Golf Club and directly across lake from Eganridge Golf Club.
Linens and towels are not included but can be arranged for an extra fee.
Winterized homes are available year-round.
