Appliances and furnishings: propane stove and refrigerator, all kitchen utensils, and all linens including sheets and towels. Both cottages are equipped with hot and cold running potable water. Propane barbeques, boats, windsurfers, and canoe available.
There are two cottages for rent located north of Temagami.
The Hill Top Cottage is a spacious two-bedroom cottage that sleeps six or eight people, using the pull-out couch. It has a new kitchen, a three-piece bathroom, and an open living room/dining room area. The contained, screened-in sitting area affords a spectacular view of uninhabited islands and of the high sand cliffs that are approximately six kilometres away, across that part of the lake. This cottage is set on a hill 30 feet above the lake level, providing a tremendous view, and is wheel chair accessible.
The wheelchair access includes double doors into the cottage, wide doorways inside, patio doors to the screened-in sitting area, and a poured concrete sidewalk to the beach and dock area. A pontoon boat can be modified to accommodate a wheelchair, passengers, or driver.
The Beach Side Cottage is nestled into the birch and pine trees, closer to the beach. This cottage offers two bedrooms that sleep six in total, and has an open kitchen, dining, and living room area. The newly renovated bathroom is complete with a toilet, sink and shower.
Both cottages are fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes and cutlery as well as bedding, linen and towels. The cottages are each built on spacious private one-acre lots, sharing a large sandy beach, shallow swimming area, raft, and sauna.
Pets are permitted upon approval.
Watabeag Lake is a beautiful, unspoiled, clear, sandy lake, consisting of 40 miles of sandy shore line in the heart of a mature boreal forest. Parts of the lake reach depths of 180 feet, providing the habitat for the thriving Lake Trout population. Watabeag's numerous shallow bays contain some of northern Ontario's best Northern Pike fishing.
There is a large marsh across the lake from the properties that is within easy canoeing distance that is an excellent place to observe nature.
The lake features many uninhabited sandy islands, great for a picnic or exploring, as well as sand cliffs that kids love to climb. Although there are about 140 cottages on the lake, none can be seen from the tranquil bay, and the majority of the shoreline is natural. The curious loons that summer here can be heard serenading each other most nights and often surface beside the boat or canoe during the day. There are wild blueberries on the property or within walking distance. There are numerous speckled trout lakes nearby, and miles of bush roads to explore.
